A Letter From Our Founders:

At Mental, we are a small team with a big mission - to create space for mental health conversation through movement and meditation. Movement and meditation is what we do but it is not the reason we are here. We are here to create space for the deeper healing. To create community and conversation around what it means to take care of your mental health and to create safe spaces for healing.

 At the end of the day, anti-racism work is mental health work. Sitting with these feelings, processing them, learning from them, and ultimately educating ourselves on why they exist in the first place is how we will create lasting changing.

 As a company founded by a white passing Latina woman and a white cis man, there is no denying we have benefited from white privilege. As we continue to build on our mission, we are committed to creating a space that advocates and supports wellness for all. We are not creating open conversation around mental health if that conversation does not extend to all of us.

We want to be clear on our plans to support our community while holding ourselves accountable. We are committed to this work as a lifelong practice and will continue to build on and update these initiatives as we grow. It is the only way forward.

Long Term Initiatives:

Tools for Healing

We will be here to support you on this journey as we continue to do the work alongside you. We will continue to create content dedicated to your mental health including resources, reminders, movement, and meditation as tools for your healing.

Support Black / POC Voices

We will open the floor up to and support Black/POC voices and healers. We deeply believe in the strength, power, and necessity of these voices in the wellness industry.

Conversation for Change

We will use this platform and our upcoming digital membership to have the conversations that are needed to create lasting change.

Hiring + Growth

As we build our team, we will look to hire and create space for those with life experiences other than our own, to create a community through understanding and honoring traumas and pains caused by the injustices of our world.

Collaboration

As we partner and collaborate with brands we will ensure these brands uphold standards of diversity and inclusion.

Price Accessibility

Price accessibility has always been extremely important to us. We will continue to keep pricing accessible while holding space for those where finance is a barrier. Including but not limited to scholarships, opportunities for allies to donate memberships, and sliding scale.
